CRE professionals from CBRE and NAI Pleasant Valley recently shared their experience with using online auctions to sell properties—and how they’ve helped them make quicker deals and reach a much wider pool of buyers.
“It was transformational for my business,” said Kevin Moss, a retail specialist at CBRE’s Cleveland office. He continued, “When we were all sitting at home and no one wanted new space because their existing businesses were closed due to the lockdown, I saw a presentation on auctions by CBRE’s national auction team. I decided to use it on some properties that had been sitting on the market that the owners were seeking alternative ways to market.
After three years, he’s demonstrated 18 sales and an estimated 85% success rate from online auctions.
